报告人简介:

Ran Bhamra is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (MIET). He has a BSc in Applied Physics with Microelectronics from Kingston Polytechnic, an MSc in Manufacturing Systems and Management from Bradford University and a PhD in Resource-based Strategy from Cranfield University.

Ran joined the School in 2008, prior to which much of his career was spent in a variety of industrial organisations and consultancy. His industrial experience includes: process improvement, project and operations management for Organisations that include Osram (Siemens Ltd.); Innovative Technology Ltd.; SCA Hygiene and Alstom Power Service UK. Dr Bhamra worked as a consultant for Pera Innovation, which involved delivering the Government's Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) - implementing operational change and improvement programmes, often Europe-wide in nature.

His key research interests include organisational resilience, competence and resource-based theory, sustainable manufacturing strategy, and also product-service operations. These research interests impinge on and embrace a number of disciplines related to organisations, competitiveness and strategy, namely: communities of practice, the management of tacit knowledge, organisational learning, innovation & technology management, the processes of organisational change and the impact of organisational design. Additionally, Ran is a visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the University of Hong Kong.
