报告题目:Modelling and Integration of Large-Scale Voltage Source Converter in Weak Grids
报告摘要:Towards a “Net-zero” energy network, the use of power electronics converters is gradually replacing the domination of synchronous generators in power systems. This is featured by a continuous declination of “Short Circuit Level (SCL)”, which has been highlighted by the National Grid ESO, UK. As a proved technology, Voltage Source Converters (VSCs) are widely employed as the interface converter for PV, wind turbine, Electric Vehicle charger, HVDC, grid-scaled battery storage system, etc.. A well-define challenge is how to operate those VSCs in a continuously weakened power network without compromising the stability both in steady state and during transients. In this presentation, a comprehensive introduction is going to be conducted on the modeling and control strategy of VSCs. This will include converter architecture, role of Phase Locked Loop (PLL), Fault-Ride-Through (FRT) and the principles of cascaded control strategies. A special focus will be placed on the latest development of de-risking the operation of a large-scale VSC in extremely weak grids with uncertainties.
